Hi Andrew,
Glad to see the wheel is still spinning :)
Marc
i want a blog shout out like your dad! rather than being lumped into the "friends who don't cared or know about SEO". Blog me baby.
As a new user I found this very interesting. I can't wait to try it out myself. Thanks!
To sum it up: I think your best tactic is to treat people like friends without flattering them too much. Haven't seen that too often.
Congrats Andrew, I'm glad you have proved Sphinn is open to everyone. At the end of the day all you have to do is submit and interesting story that 19 other people find interesting. Simple.
all good stuff andy !
Thanks for the nice comments all. Tad, I think your point is a good one. If you're not actually interested in the community and the content I think the regulars (in any community) can smell a fake pretty quickly. Lyndon, I was surprised at how quickly an article can tip over to hot. The challenge is in the long run that priming the votes with Dad's help doesn't seem like something you'd want to replicate often (I already am in debt to my father enough for one lifetime) so ultimately you need to be generating great content and making great connections with others. Eloi, what can I say except I never go by "Andy". But thanks for the comment anyhow. I am now optimized for "good stuff andy" which I believe is showing some hyper-growth on Google Trends.
"I also think he was genuinely amused/confused as to how this nothing story had become a story."
IMO that's the best bit of the post. The one sentence that made my brain go "aha!". Buzz Marketing IS about turning nothing into stories. Like a sculp artist makes a beautiful figure out of a piece of stone.
