So I wonder if you were Google you’d be like, "Hey, since you’re giving free publicity to a website, we’ll pay you to more heavily promote Jaiku."  CNN could say, "Be sure to follow CNN  on (whichever micro-blogging service pays us the most.)"  CNN: the most trusted name in Micro-blogging.

I noticed this too (while watching like a thousand hours of straight hurricane coverage a couple of weekends ago)! i think it’s pretty smart, assuming it doesn’t interfere with accurate reporting. at least they’re interacting and trying to go where the constituents are. p.s. also amused by the most trusted name in microblogging comment

I used feeds from twitter to report on Hurricane Gustav. When the electricity was off in New Orleans, people were still able to use Twitter via cell phone.
