Eh. I tried. I was surprised I was first.Either way. It would be cool to hear a follow-up of people who ACTUALLY get their AdWords badges from this. :)

Do you really need 10?  I’ve taken and passed the test before, although this was a few years ago now.  From my experience, I think most, if not all people should really just concentrate on your first resource, the AdWords Learning Center.  When I took the test, it was full of questions that, at the time, I didn’t even deal with on a day to day basis.  Today, I believe the test also includes questions on other Google advertising properties such as radio and TV ads.  Since the test is testing knowledge of what Google thinks is important, the Learning Center is the only place to get the content that will help you learn the answers Google wants to hear. You did provide a great list for introducing people to search marketing.

i can’t understand why anyone bothers with this test. it’s not really an indicator of any kind of competence with ppc other than the ability to setup an account and spend money.

@darkmatter yes but it’s also the association.  Most people don’t know the difference. That nifty badge can make conversions higher. :)

All useful resources, although I just read through the Learning Centre, then took the exam. Since the questions were virtually the same as the end of chapter quizzes, I thought it was very straightforward, and passed it from about one day of reading. That said, it didn’t really teach me how to manage a PPC campaign effectively - reading up on other people’s blogs and guides can help a lot here...From the view of a potential client, I doubt that seeing a GAP logo would convince them to select a given agency, but the lack of one would certainly worry me - why wouldn’t an agency have one?

Well.... I studied the adwords learning center text lessons for about 2 hours and took the test and got a 90.3% :) Not to brag! This was my second time taking and passing the exam - the first time I got a 83%.  But this is after working at a PPC agency and managing about 40 accounts prior to taking the exam.  One thing I have to say is, they really do try hard to trip you up on some of the questions.  Some stuff is very obvious to someone with some level of experience but alot of it is really rarely used information - or questions about NEW products/services, features, etc.The point is these resources are all well and good but nothing replaces good ol experience.  Of course if you don’t have an extensive level of experience then you should study alot more for this exam or you will probably fail it.  Remember 75% or higher!
