The use of tools can surely automate some tasks, particularly in grabbing/looking for the robots.txt file, determining the presence and content of a title tag or meta tag, but SEO is more than just keywords, its also writing optimized copy that engages a user to take action towards a goal, amongst a billion other things. Tools will continue to help SEOs, but complete A-Z automation seems a lofty and (unachievable?) goal.
It is if we speak of the industrial revolution from the lateo 18th century. The factories firing thousands of people, to make way for the better and more productive machines.
