An interview with Aaron is always a good read.
Great interview with great insights!
Awesome interview, but the formatting makes it kind of hard to read. Less bold is better, and if you are going to number your questions then do that through out!
awall is the man
Aaron knows what time it is, one of the few in the SEO industry I truly respect.
Hmm, decent interview. There are some good insights that dive into the SEO market, but for most advanced SEOs and SEMs, this is all old news.
ditto
In my humble opinion, the title of the article is slightly sensationalistic. This may get you some traffic for a few posts, but in the long run those who come to know your work will discount the over zealous titles.I would imagine this could be damaging to your reputation in the future. Unless of course your intention was to get temporary recognition ... There is a fine line between having clever titles and being deceptive. Im not saying that your title is "a fraud", but I dont think it represents the post very well. At any rate, it was a great post. However, I agree with Tanner, this wasnt "advanced SEO".
Not being an "advanced SEO:, this is one of the best, most informative interviews Ive ever read. Didnt notice the formatting issues that joehall mentions, because of the content.
Errr, all excellent points, but where is the "bad news" exactly?
If you want to highlight the real genius in this, recognize that last year Entrepreneur Magazine published a horrible SEO article by the same Jon Rognerud that got coverage in the search community partly because it was so remarkably off. Entrepreneur has a relatively large offline reach, and serves new and introductory level small business decision makers. It is the print equivalent of the"Get Rich Working for Yourself" promotional media.Aparently Aaron saw that opportunity, because you are now witnessing Aaron Wall headlining on SEO in Entrepreneur Magazine, in Jon Rogneruds column. Nice work. Should grow the bottom line of SEO Book nicely, in addition to the new (positive) connections in the SMB space. Or maybe Brent did...
John you crack me the heck up!!! Thanks, I needed the laugh ;)
@flseo I totally agree with you about the abuse of the title...It was really a good interview with Aaron, who always talks very intelligently. However, it had 1 line that was "bad news"... I can see a bit of a theme in Aarons answers, which he has always had, that you should be honest about your seo, and theres very little "accidental blackhat".
