Great little URL shortening service found by Donna that has some very nice extras built in, not the least of which is that it has it’s own analytics package built into it. This is truly something all search marketers can use.

@reese Yep there are a ton of things you can use it for. The idea hit me when I started using Twitter and started linking a lot to sites I don’t own. I thought it would be great to see what kind of traffic my link sharing is generating. And Cligs was born :)

Very cool. Is it possible to delete Cligs you’re finished with? Can’t see the option anywhere. Also, it would be nice to be able to organise them into different folders.

Clig deletion is top of the to-do list. Also editing the cligs’ details. And yes there is a new set of features that help you organize Cligs better. It’s not folders though...

Don’t see how that’s easier than just clicking a bookmarklet.  One click versus typing 15 characters.

Nice, but why do I need to register for this?

@onreactBecause it saves all the shortened URLs in the user’s account. Other URL shortening services out there don’t have any settings or user history so they don’t need registration. Pierre’s idea really steps up the game for others in the URL shortening niche - tying in analytics was genius.I wish more SEO/SEMs were involved in start-up projects, they have some great ideas.

@onreact: Cligs saves the analytics for your short URLs. To keep them private, they have to be password protected.Pierre

cool idea - good work Pierre, would be interesting to have:-copy to clipboard extension like is.gd-#of "hits" for each cli.gs right from the myCli.gs page rather than have to click on details
