Brilliant! Helps me see what links are of use/interest to people and perhaps tailor what I share accordingly. Thanks much for sphinning this.
Gonna be nice to see where the clicks come from. Great find Donna, and nice work Pierre!
@reese Yep there are a ton of things you can use it for. The idea hit me when I started using Twitter and started linking a lot to sites I dont own. I thought it would be great to see what kind of traffic my link sharing is generating. And Cligs was born :)
Very cool. Is it possible to delete Cligs youre finished with? Cant see the option anywhere. Also, it would be nice to be able to organise them into different folders.
Clig deletion is top of the to-do list. Also editing the cligs details. And yes there is a new set of features that help you organize Cligs better. Its not folders though...
Dont see how thats easier than just clicking a bookmarklet. One click versus typing 15 characters.
Nice, but why do I need to register for this?
@onreactBecause it saves all the shortened URLs in the users account. Other URL shortening services out there dont have any settings or user history so they dont need registration. Pierres idea really steps up the game for others in the URL shortening niche - tying in analytics was genius.I wish more SEO/SEMs were involved in start-up projects, they have some great ideas.
This definitely sounds useful, thanks!
@onreact: Cligs saves the analytics for your short URLs. To keep them private, they have to be password protected.Pierre
cool idea - good work Pierre, would be interesting to have:-copy to clipboard extension like is.gd-#of "hits" for each cli.gs right from the myCli.gs page rather than have to click on details
