Not quite an analysis of their marketing efforts, more a look at their design and usability. The article doesn’t touch on SEO or marketing really.Interesting none the less though

Yeah my description is not going to win the Sphinn accuracy of year award ;) You got me, but it’s an interesting read. Some great stuff coming out of E consultancy these days.I wonder who does Asda’s seo, I would love someone to do a list of the UK corporates and list who does their seo. We could all have a jolly good laugh whilst eating our biscuits.

Some of the "rockstars of SEO" handle some of those big corporate accounts that you’ll laugh at.

I am quite surprised at these failings.  They seem to be simple errors that a company of this size should have avoided with a decent design/marketing team.

@g1smd in my experience it’s usually not the "rockstars" fault, more the client for not letting them do the do.

I think the main one is the registration across different sections of the site. I’ve never seen that before..!

Not only is there some great stuff coming out of e-consultancy these days (I always think my contributions there bring the tone/standard down somewhat) but it means that I get to see the name Asda on the homepage of Sphinn - not sure why that gives me a kick, but it does...

Very nice article!"Not quite an analysis of their marketing efforts, more a look at their design and usability"I’d happily bucket most of their suggestions in ’marketing’: They’re all about turning site visitors into customers.

Anyone who thinks that marketing is not intrinsically connected with product design and usability probably needs shooting. ;-)As we say in marketing - "you can’t polish a turd": any marketer needs to make sure the product rocks (and converts) before they even think about SEO or any other kind of activity.

@Lyndon: ’in my experience it’s usually not the "rockstars" fault, more the client for not letting them do the do.’Ack. The knowledge is already present with the SEO him/herself, but how to get the point across? That is a whole different ballgame (and in my opinion, a very interesting one)
