The press and bloggers really need to be aware of how they link and attribute. If you are giving a link to someone, think about how that link can best benefit them.

Still shaking my head over the poor practise in the Guardian article, linking out to those MFA’s... and worse still, not to you!Great write-up Andy... I particularly think the "invisible links" section  is something more bloggers should pay attention to.

We actually have a response from both the author of the article and the editor of the Technology section of the Guardian in the comments now if you care to read their linking policy. I haven’t yet responded as I am still travelling and trying to keep up with email
