Yahoo's Slurp visits my sites frequently. Much more often than Googlebot, or msnbot. I thought Slurp was just being friendly. Now I believe that Slurp is doublechecking all my links to find transient ones that it doesn't have to index. A Yahoo patent application explains how.

An added bonus in the patent filing is the first indication on paper that I can recall of Yahoo doing some kind of segmentation of pages like Microsoft's VIPs.
