It would be nice is there was a count of ticks and crosses at the bottom of the page, just to give a hint as to the numbers of good and bad issues. In the summary, it says "is this the best heading for the page?", but doesn’t show what the text of the heading actually was.

@mediafortemarketing  - Thanks for trying it!@g1smd - duly noted and already on the bug report - It shows the text in the upper area, but not in the summary - smae thing for Alt tags. Thamks for Sphinning Todd and others - and I’ll keep checking for feedback and ideas...

I really like this, and will use it.<div></div><div>One thing I noticed however, I ran a few client sites through it, and it counted the internal links as external links on a couple of them.</div>

Reminds me a lot of the old free Silktide Sitescore service that went defunkt after too much traffic. They still offer the premium Sitescore, though. I hope you’ve got a good server. Once word gets out, you’ll probably get hammered. Just after a quick run-through, you’ve done a good job covering the basics and the details you give are easy enough to understand for less experienced webmasters. Well done!

Good job scott, Nice educational piece for those who either know very little or want an on page SWOT tool, apart from the direction on the meta keywords tag that is ;)

Very nice tool scott and congrats for putting it successfully online. Though I won’t put not having sitemap.xml as critical, I think heavy deep linking from home page is probably a better metric.

I wish it worked so I could judge whether or not it’s a good tool for me!

It did not work for one of my blogs, for some reason.  While overall it was pretty good, it has one serious error.  It lists the lack of a meta keyword tag as a critical error rather than as worth reviewing.  Then for one of my commerical frame sites, it repeated some of the tests twice and gave a somewhat different response on Favicon.

Really useful, even if a couple of the metrics are somewhat subjective.Going to be very handy for quick reviews of client sites.

All the reported bugs are now fixed - Thanks for all the contributions here and via email, blog etc. @johnhgohde - I’d suggest that any site for which "the tool doesn’t work for" might actually have a problem of some sort? Also, I do point out on the tool that the keyword tak "isn’t really critical" - and it’s just my opinion there anyway.  We’ve been unable to replicate the  "repeating some of the tests rwice" and getting different favicon results.  Thanks for the input, it’s much appreciated.

SEO Automatic is a great tool for quick overviews when you’re crunched for time.  Really solid general overview for a site and what all novice SEOs need to be looking for when it’s time to diagnosis a client site.  Excellent work on this tool Scott!  (P.S. Great link to the Favicon Generator)

I have used many SEO tools over the last 5 years including a plethora of reporting and page analysis tools. This one beats them all hands down. Forget WEBCEO, Wordtracker Page Critic, this one tells you what you need to know in a concise and easy to understand manner.Scott, if you put this on the market I would love to be an affiliate!Simon Skinnerhttp://www.sportsbook-watch.com
