Commented on the post, but it's worth repeating here as well. Our independant user studies have shown that media rich SERPs really break up the user's train of thought. Many times the organic listings directly beneath the media receive a higher clickthrouhh. So yeah... These changes are big for search marketers :)
don't you just hate universal search
Maybe Google should call it noisy, confusing, inconsistent search?
A simple, strategic, move by Udi Manbar to increase shareholder wealth. Less spots to rank for organically, means the potential to have to bid on terms to get the traffic needed to stay in business.
Still cannot get over the first time Udi was talking about all this, its tough for me to buy the fact it really is helping the end user.
