The Social Media Scoreboard only cares about the number of friends you have - not the actual value of them. And it defeats the purpose of social media and social networking.

What an excellent post. If I were I would have placed the following at the beginning of the post to avoid overwhelming readers: "None of this takes a ton of time. It might only take 10 minutes a day. When you first get rolling in social media, it’ll likely take a lot longer than that, but over time you spend less energy hunting for new relationships and more time nurturing those that already exist"Although if someone gets overwhelmed by this post then it’s probably not meant to be a social media player.

GotanRaider: That’s a good idea actually, should have led with that...but people would still scroll, see the length and get scared off regardless. I thought about breaking it into multiple posts, but sometimes you just have to put it all out there.

"I thought about breaking it into multiple posts, but sometimes you just have to put it all out there." I know the feeling :-)
