The big sites hit a certain critical mass where the little fish in a big pond gets eaten.  The verticals are where it’s at.  The lesser known sites bring in a lot of traffic when you hit the right ones.  And the verticl-er they are the better in many cases.

Chris, thanks for the article.  To help writers on GZYN, I was writing an article on ’how to promote articles to maximize readership’. One of the key aspects was leveraging social networks and bookmarking sites.
