(To me, Twitter is really nothing more than an online chat room–only you get to choose those whom you want to listen to.) - Jill WhalenThis stuck with me, since I was just talking to a potential client, and they wanted a chat room on their website and I suggested they use Twitter instead. :P
@footinmouthdisease, love it :)Actually, I agree as well. I use Twitter differently than probably 95-97% of this industry, and that is that I try to minimize using the @ to direct messages to people -- I use Twitter as a broadcast medium. If people want to talk to me, I reply to them via direct message and Im pretty consistent at that. Right now, my Twitter feed looks like this:@name1 I saw @name2 at the store@name3 you going to dinner tonight?@name4 i clicked on the link like you saidIts definitely valuable, but its too damn noisy. The above stories are hardly relevant to me.
@tamar I just went to Elliots pet store, and the way that the birds were behaving reminds me of Twitter. While each birds song was beautiful, when everyone was singing it didnt matter if they were singing to themselves, or to each other...it just gave me a headache.
@ footinmouthdisease perhaps thats where the name "Twitter" came from?
Whalen: most over-rated SEO in town. Very limited technical knowledge, no original incite.
