I’ve made similar requests from complete strangers. For some people social courtesy is not something that was taught. And let’s be honest...this is the internet. We are going to run into those people who are socially challenged. Maybe this guy was one of them. Moreover, my first thought was actually that this is some guy who isn’t used to the internet and the ways to meet people on it and was trying to be "cool" by meeting someone online.
