It seems adequote for small business SEO but I feel like it may not be enough for more high-end SEO projects where keyword research is given much more weight than explained in the article.
I agree I have tried it with my bigger client and not seen as much return. However for the smaller client that I have I have seen a great amount of turn around. It doesnt hurt but I am not sure it helps a great deal.
Nothing groundbreaking, but its always good to see articles that discuss CTR for SEO. Theres not enough conversation about that topic.People are so focused on rankings and traffic, so they sometimes forget about good old CTR.
@hugoguzman I agree that CTR is a metric that organic SEO ignores, when it is the primary function of your Serp Snippet. SEM experts tweak the tiny amount of text in PPC ads endlessly- I think since you have 3-4 x characters to work with you can do a lot with minor changes. One thing the article lacked was any guidance on scope, and whether changing a number of tags repeatedly/all at once might have a negative impact. *I myself have had negative experieces from messing to much with the tags, and from changing to many at once, but is that anecdotal evidence? Or is there a industry wide experience in that regard?
Nice to see, its obvious, but often overlooked that page titles and description tags should be compelling as well as include keywords. Too many people just stuff in as many as they can. Yopu only have to look at AdWords ads to see what a difference CTR can be.
