we’re all trying to get traffic to our clients websites and maybe even our own, and we work so hard on SEO, social media, marketing techniques to try and achieve that.

My boyfriend started a blog and within a few weeks he had over 500 people coming along.

No PageRank, no links, no social media work, nothing. No SEO involvement at all. How did he do it?

Page Rank does not mean anything when it comes to actual rankings. Not to sound negative, but anyone who has a small amount of SEO knowledge could take something that was not really listed out there (be it a keyword/phrase) and get results for it.Most clients however, will not like this because most of the time the information you produce will not be relevant. Take for instance the phrase "bamboozle guzzler" a quick search in google shows it has 554 results. With about an hours worth of work you could easily target that phrase and see results in the not too distant future. The real proof in the pudding would be to take a very "generic" keyword that the world and his wife are targeting for example one such as "loans" and try to reach as close to page 1 as possible. It’s great that your boyfriend has provided that specific information for people to find and use so keep it going, but there is a massive red line here that is drawn between specific unlisted information and generic targeted information.

I think it was meant to be a bit of friday humour :)If you got a "bad magic number error" and you were the only person who posted how to fix it, of course you’d do well, regardless of all that seo stuff we talk about all day and argue about. It’s not for clients, it’s not for pretty much anything else, apart from specific coding errors and it’s not to make money.Coders will usually put the exact error pasted from their code directly into Google, so something like (or they’ll put part of it and you can usually find what you want really easily - if it’s there):P:companysrcgui.java:79: illegal start of typeelse if (e.getSource() == mtOne) It was funny that he did so well when I’m working all day with seo.
