Every website or blog has a purpose, be it a sale, a subscription or simply conveying the message, whatever it is. Achieving this goal is called conversion. The worst enemy of the conversion is the bounce rate. Tad gives us 7 ways to reduce this and keep channeling visitors to customers.

Thanks Nick for the submission. I already assumed that nobody is interested in SEO 2.0 anymore.

Don’t get me started on the SEO 2.0 angle again unless we have beer in front of us ;) Useful tips for reducing the bounce rate though - thanks Tad :) Bookmarked.

You’re in Russia, aren’t you? So next time you’re around here (Berlin) we’ll do that. We might even drink some Vodka or a White Russian :-)

@TadYep, we’re not so far away from you here in Moscow :) I’ve promised to take Anna to OcktoberFest as some point so you’ll definitely be getting a call when we do that. I’ll also be bringing a couple of bottles of Russia’s finest to PubCon if you’re going to be there.

Also, don’t forget - keep traffic targeted. :)A lot of people are still obsessed with traffic volume, not traffic quality. Traffic volume is easy - our job should always be to focus on quality IMO.

Good post. Your point about whitespace is especially good. So many people I talked to really freak out about too much whitespace. However, I think its imperative to isolate the content a little.
