Dave just launched a vertical search engine for the SEO community named "Search SEO Pros". A great time-saver and starting point!

Is this related to SEO Pros the organization? If not, there could be some trademark trouble down th road.

@Brian..... I created the GCSE back many months ago as a tool for researching SEO goodiness; I then added a second engine with more SEO rising stars as well.... going to be adding to that as I go. If peeps actually find it useful, I will ultimately dig into the API for a more refined weighting.... for now just a toy I had worth sharing. They are handy in any niche - chreate on of those with top niche sites and some Google alerts..and yer Golden - it’s always interesting to see how Google weights other pages in a query space right? ;0)

Are you making a suggestion Brian? he he... I created the tool many months ago and am now starting to update the sites in it - but it would be nice if peeps would help on that end ;0)The main criteria are;Active - needs to have more than one post/month - we all know old SEO knowledge can be bad ju ju in many cases.Quality of Content - this is obviously subjective, but I like to think I know my sh@t.... I am also after blogs that are mostly SEO... som suggestions were blogs that had very few SEO posts... this is important as well.Street Cred - regardless if I like the posts or not, I will add those with industry standing even if the post frequency isn’t ihigh.Kiss my a$$ - obviously another good way is to write a nice post about the site or otherwise pimp it; that’ll get you on the radar.. and hopefully an inclusion ;0)I am adding some sites today, will certainly put ya in there Bri... ya know I luvs ya mate!!

Well, I started using GCSEs a lot the last year or so as part of the toolset for researching/buzz monitoring with each project we do. There are soooo many things they offer (including Google’s rankings for target sites) - so why not create a few for the SEO industry?I think I started around 5-6pm and finished around 2am... obviously still tweaking and playing with them. For such little effort, seemed a worthwhile endeavor... going to dig into the GCSE API soon to see how it can be tweaked further.I will also be sure to create a blog over there and list some of the search data... share what peeps in the SEO biz are searching for ;0)

@Jill, the Organization is OSEOP (Organization of Search Engine Optimization Professionals) with it’s marketing site being SeoPros.org. To be honest even if this was a big deal I doubt we would waste $’s litigating it. Afterall this is just an api not a real functioning search engine. In that it’s much like Rand’s link spider. A search engine that uses another SE. They will look pretty stupid when we add the new search to SeoPros but... I’ll leave that at that;-)Do we wish people would quit highjacking the name because they can’t be bothered to research the name they give a site? Well it’s either shoddy research or it’s intentional. Either way as long as they don’t say they are SeoPros or members like some SEOprosdotUSA then... we’re Ok with it. Otherwise we do seek counsel and in the future will be ruthless as this is beginning to get annoying beyond a slight nuisance to being a waste of my and other execs time.
