Please let us know once youve actually spilled all the beans...
There are some more beans to come. But for Jill and anyother people wondering, there will be a new website/blog redesign with all new content and a description of our services and offerings. This will occur in the next two weeks or so.
"moved to historic Troy from Hawaii, Florida and Southern California"Never! The winters in Troy, NY are horribly bad.I thought that the whole idea of being an SEO was being able to work over the Internet from almost any where?Come February when Virginia will be experiencing a few summer like days, I will be expecting a mass migration back to Sunny California. I hate to break the bubble, but when you live in frostbite, New York summer wont arrive until June.
Historic Troy NY has all 4 seasons in equal amounts. Theres something to be said about getting to experience the fun of all seasons. I like to ski, many of us like to snowboard, tubing down a ski slope is fun too. Making snowmen, fun, snow angels, cool. Theres no hurricanes, tornadoes are rare, earth quicks are rare, days over 100 are rare....cant believe a bunch of seos are afraid of a little snow ;)I can say that the winters in troy are nothing like the winters Ive experienced in the mountains of california or along the great divide. ...its not too bad...and were tough here anyways ;)
I grew up in New York State so I can say that I know all about getting a lot of snow during winter, first hand.
I think Jim is lying to me...
about the seasons, yeah.
Snow! You guys in Troy dont know the meaning of the word. We get 7 months of icey hell over here in Russia. -30C and were still chatting on the street corners with a beer ;) Jims right though, when I lived in the UK you end up coasting through all the seasons without any noticable changes. Makes the years go very fast. Having proper seasons definitely slowed things down for me.
I have been spoiled by the light winters in Virginia. Last year we had summer weather both in January and February. I would imagine that Winters would have to be even lighter in Sunny California. But, if you have never experienced a real winter, you would have to be in for quite an adjustment.
Im glad to be back where the seasons are normal again. Nice 10 months, then nice with scattered rain and the occasional flood for 10 months. Cold and snow in the mountains, where it belongs.
[counts on fingers]Danny, where do you live that has 20 months? :)
I thought that the whole idea of being an SEO was being able to work over the Internet from almost any where?Wow, I actually agree with JohnHGohde about something :.)Still, Jim is building a heck of a company...will Matt Cutts be next?
Good to see WBP moving forward - Jim really is one of the rare genuises of the industry. In the US, at least. ;)
"Historic Troy NY has all 4 seasons in equal amounts"Nice. Here in southern Virginia we have one season: humid. Plays havoc with the hair but lets you wear flip flops ten months out of the year so thats good!
Ive lived in Hawaii. Yeah, you can go the beach on Christmas - but it just aint the same.Im like Jim and Nick. Give me the seasons (in equal parts) and it makes the year go by so much slower.I wonder if a weather disclaimer was part of the employment contracts.
A discussion of the weather inTroy vs. the rest of the country will not be good for the people who just moved to Troy. Give them a break and change the subject. Maybe talk about nightlife/clubs or the local music scene instead? Or the great restaurants... anything but the weather. Thats not a fair fight.
