It’s been a disturbing trend I’ve been seeing the last couple of months - individuals bashing other SEOs and saying negative things about one another. Basically, focusing on the negative side of things instead of the positive on people and news stories.

It’s reaching critical mass with the new "Rand witch hunting" type of story going on yesterday & today.

So let’s shift the focus from negative things about people, stories, etc. to positive. How about saying something nice about a colleague, SEO professional, SEM story, whatever.

...Yes, I watch Dr. Phil on a daily basis. Sue me :)

I’ll start - I think this is a great idea :)I’m thankful for (it’s almost thanksgiving isnt it) Tamar over at SE Roundtable - I really appreciate her reporting and her comments that go along with stories.  It’s nice to know if I want to get the "scoop" on something I just have to find SERoundtable or somewhere else Tamar has been posting!

I’ve got three folks to rave about! ...in no order really...Jessica Bowman - About to become a Yahooligan, I’ve known Jessica for a few years now.  She’s an excellent SEO, and knows the value of building relationships to get the work she needs done.  I am pleased to say I have her number in my cell phone. :)  She’s the sort of person you can easily talk to and who’s friendship you come to value quickly.Rose Sylvia - aka FlyingRose (of ppcThink.com and a mod with me over at SearchEngineForums.com) - Rose has a deep sense of loyalty and is happy to help folks who are honest and willing to help others themselves.  She is one of the best PPC account managers I’ve ever encountered and she has an intrinsic knack for getiting the insdie track on juicy concepts and new ideas.  When Rose pings, I answer.Bill Hartzer - conference speaker, SEO and generally a bottomless, ever-renewing source of anything social and SEO - I first encountered Bill at SearchEngineForums.com where he’s the Admin.  I was told once (by Rose) - if Bills starts to share ideas with you, take notes - his ideas are worth money!  A couple years later we communicate almost daily and I’m waiting for the next chance we meet so I can buy the man a HUGE steak to say thanks for all the tips and advice he’s shared over the years.  Bill is also the guy who uttered the fateful words that spurred me to write my book - which was picked up by McGraw-Hill and will be out in December.I could rave about others, but for now, those are three from me.Excellent idea, this topic!  Thanks Christian!Duane

Honestly, everyone at Sphinn has really impacted me in a postive way recently. I’ve always found everyone to be extremely helpful, and practically everyone - with exception of the spammers - are concerned for the future of search engines.YOU are changing the way the world thinks of SEO, and for that: thank you.

I am most thankful of webmasterradio.fm. I don’t get to talk SEO much, and reading it all day gets me bogged down sometimes. It’s the closest thing I have to human interaction in regard to SEO’s.

I want to echo Carrie’s sentiments about the awesomeness of Tamar.   Without Tamar’s insight and witty commentary, I’d have to spend my mornings trolling through the forums to hear what the conversation is. Personally, I’m really happy I don’t have to do that. Thanks, Tamar! :)

Great idea! I’m going to give a nod to Bill Slawski. Without him most of us would still be shaking our heads trying to decipher all those search engine patents.

I want to say that everyone is great, even the nasty bastards! if we were always sweetness and light then we’d all be stuck in some iterative self referencing loop going nowhere very fast. Yay, to the contrarians! :D

"YOU are changing the way the world thinks of SEO, and for that: thank you"@Tanner - whilst I agree with the sentiment here, I think that Sphinn is mainly helping the way that SEOs see themselves; I often feel that it’s all a bit inward looking - as the whole Rand thing goes to show. That doesn’t change the fact that Danny & his team are all lovely people and that Sphinn is a great site...If I had to choose one person in the industry to say positive things about - I couldn’t; there are too many to mention.Rob Kerry, Rand, Aaron - and many more... all professional, funny, real people.
