Two mistakes you made - 1.) a month is hardly enought time to evaluate whether a link is effective or not. In y experience, you need more like 2-3 months. 2.) You just revealed your strategy to the whole world (including Google).

and google is another story for me
IMHO you have to let the link buy run for at least 6 months, but as david says you should see something after 3 months
Two links aren't enough to draw a conclusion either IMO.
cool - what do you think the average purchase of links are? and are they in the same area of stats?
