It's not something that I've ever been personally involved in but sounds like a good prospect, cheers Ann.

Big fan of blog carnivals. Way back in the day I used to participate in them myself.

I'd be curious to hear from SEOs if they have any reasons for preferring blog carnivals over group writing projects. Although there are some good exceptions, blog carnivals are mostly link dumps recurring on the same blogs. Group writing projects, on the other hand, often occur on different websites, making for more varied links over time.

Thoughts?

"blog carnivals are mostly link dumps"

A good reason to avoid them, to be honest. For an antis-spam team, it could be like shooting fish in a barrel!
