Jake Matthews writes, "One of the easiest ways to raise the visibility of your site with video on YouTube is to use video “annotations”. Annotations are short textual notes that you can post in the video player and publish to your videos. And while annotations don’t yet allow you to link OUT of YouTube, they do allow you type in a URL in text form without linking, which is 1 step in the right direction to tying your great video content back to your site/brand name."

I think video is being criminally under-leveraged in the SEO sphere... and I need to do more work with it.  I had no idea about the annotations, so I appreciate this solid tip.

Even Watermark works :) And also adding the link in the "Description" helps. (People are lazy to type )...

I’ve tried the notes annotation and any other method you can think of on YouTube.I’m getting next to nothing for traffic from YouTube. This is from related-subject videos with plenty of views. At this point, I think Youtube is good for Brand Awareness only. I can’t seem to get many people to leave youtube.I would love someone to do an ROI study on Youtube videos and traffic to your site. Track not just traffic... but include actions like "mail list signup" and purchases, etc.Youtube traffic sucks and converts worse than Myspace traffic. My YouTube experiment was a huge FAIL. :(
