Interesting new personalization concepts from Google...

- Bits Blog - NYTimes.com - Search engine optimizers, or SEOs, who help companies improve their search engine rankings, should not rush to start manipulating SearchWiki—at least not yet. Ms. Mayer said that SearchWiki comments and re-rankings will have no affect on the Google algorithm and how it ranks sites for the general Google audience. “At this time we aren’t using SearchWiki to influence ranking but it is easy to see how that could happen in the future” she said.

I’m not getting the ’wiki’ part - shouldn’t it be called GoogleSearchReddit?Looking forward to some more technical articles - so far I’m just seeing CNN & NYT regurgitating press releases. Interesting times though!

Well there is the ability for annotation which is the ’Wiki’ part I guess (the notes are public) - I know it’s the most spammable part of the system... he he... I found a video, which I put on the trail BTW... check it out!! http://sphinn.com/story/86429
