This was an awesome interview, one of the best pieces I’ve read about social media in months.  Thanks Brett and Marty!

BBcarter, glad you liked it, I was impressed with what Marty had to say, also. He’s definitely an original thinker who comes up with a bevy of ideas... and some of them are home runs. Original ideas are what make the marketing world go round... and Marty has a gift for pulling them out of the cracks and crevices of the universe.

Very good. I was especially impressed with his analysis of transparency.

"It’s really easy to write about ‘ethical’ so long as you receive no checks that you buy food for your children with from real companies that are concerned about their social media presence."I, too,  have found that people who aren’t under pressure to deliver results to demanding clients often have very different opinions about SEO and social media marketing techniques than I do.

Perhaps the interview could be extended to discuss more about what tools are benefiting clients the most, how they are measuring return and what types of client needs are best suited for social media?
