Thanks for the Sphinn Jeff!
Wait, you mean my flash navigation isnt doing me any good for passing PR?
Will, flash actually is one of the more effective ways to accumulate and pass PR. People show up at a flashy site, get instantly turned off, blog about how annoying the flash is and link back to the offending page. Voila. Instant PR.
Sphinning for the comment reply not just for the article ;)
thats the whole article?
Thats an awful lot of Sphinns for an article simply telling people to use Webmaster tools to check links
Wow, havent been on sphinn for awhile. Come back and this article is right at the top...I just deleted Sphinn from my bookmarks. bubye everyone, there is nothing of value on here anymore.
Dudes, good things - small packages, etc.
How does a 2-paragraph 138-word blog post that tells people to check Webmaster tools make it to the top of Sphinn?despun. Someone should look into who voted this up and make their sphinns not count on future votes or something.
I hate to bash... but I dont believe this should be on the front page of Sphinn Either the people who voted this up are just gaming the algo or they dont actually read the articles - just vote - and if thats the case they should hang out on Digg ;)
Well since I wrote the damn thing and was happy to see it go to the front page I guess I should attempt to defend it. 1. While there has been a lot written about GWT, often there are very simple things you can use GWT for that go unnoticed - such as inferring that a link passes pr because it shows up in the internal links report.2. If I were a newbie to SEO, Web marketing, etc., while I might be interested in reading longer articles about how to create no fail hot content (for the millionth time) or that Kate Morris joined New Edge Media (Hooray! Who?), I also might be interested in getting some very simple, actionable advice on say how to figure out if a link passes page rank. Not sure why that doesnt deserve to be on the front page of Sphinn v. anything else that is currently up there, but thats just my opinion.

@WTF Sphinn: Im afriad to say that fancy pants elitist snob-SEOs who know everything are (fortunatly) not the only audience here. Believe it or not, Webmaster Central is news to MANY who dont live in our fishbowl world. Take whatever shots you want at the post or Andrew. Sometimes very simple content with a single idea, means the most to someone.
Almost no content, everyone knows Google Webmaster Tools
138-word blog post with no real or new information.
doesnt say anything except - track pr distribution in webmasters tools -
if topic is passing page rank, or link juice, or whatever you call it at this basic a level, at least go into the basics, not just list a tool.
