I might have titled this piece TYRANNY REIGNS but Chris takes a level headed look at the effects of Google’s current actions.

From the page:- "If Google, who made their billions on the back of the likes of you and me promoting and evangelising them, really feel the need to stamp all over independent bloggers and webmasters who are just earning a few dollars here and there, whilst the real scammers and spammers continue unchecked then I’m giving up."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TyrantA tyrant is a single ruler holding vast, if not absolute power through a state or in an organization. The term carries connotations of a harsh and cruel ruler who places his/her own interests or the interests of a small oligarchy over the best interests of the general population which they govern or control. This mode of rule is referred to as tyranny. Many individual rulers or government officials are accused of tyranny, with the label almost always a matter of controversy.

"Is your content being scraped by a splog which is also stealing from 200 other bloggers and is plastered in adsense?  File a DMCA with Google, sign your life way and jump through a load of legal hoops, and they’ll think about suspending their account.Seen a blogger earning $5 a month through a text link? Jump on the handily provided snitch link, and that site will be gone from the index in seconds!Ah, forget it."Says it all, doesn’t it?

In other news Google’s stock hit $625.39 on Monday and they look closer than ever to a $200 billion market cap. The search engine is now worth four eBays, five Yahoo!s, or 17 Chinese Baidus.

"who are just earning a few dollars here and there"That says it all - when you get caught with your hand in the cookie jar...Besides, Airy’s was a redirect issue, wasn’t it? Are Google also evil because DMOZ also messed up their redirects, too?

"Besides, Airy’s was a redirect issue, wasn’t it?"Brian, no, according to Matt Cutts, the issues were:- paid links to off-topic sites- a contest encouraging people to link bomb the site"who are just earning a few dollars here and there"How people get  riled up over $5/month courtesy of TLB/TLA/LW/PPP is a mystery to me. There are plenty of other ways to generate revenue.
