Im sphinning but there is a good argument (although not exactly pragmatic) that SEO should be done together in order to capitaise on an holistic approach. And without meaning to sound pedantic, there are multiple other factors that could have affected rankign during this period...although this does not mean to say that I dont apprecite the time that you put into this research...its just a good idea to highlight limitations of research.Good work, and thanks for sharing.
Thanks for taking the time to read!Im aware that there could be other factors like links, algo changes and the moons gravitational pull. The test was done on 50+ pages, the site the pages belonged too have over 2000+ pages and no other changes like this took place. So I am assuming what I did had the discussed impact. Thanks
Yeah, could well be right. Competitors could be doing stuff too...Cheers for putting together though.
Call me crazy...but in your charts, almost all your plot points seem to place lower than your original plot points. Is it possible for you to publish a data chart to accompany your graphs?
As mentioned, each page was optimised before I started the test - thats the reason so many keywords improved rankings. I am more than happy to make the data available for download on the site, just give me a day :)
What? All this talk about rankings, did traffic go up for keywords or the website overall?
This agrees with what I believe happens with GBot, you will see a surge when you change the page whilst Google has the old and new versions of the page in their index, then a dip when the old pages are dropped. Itll take about 3 months to get a good idea of how the new pages are performing on their own.
