The forum spammers Scott Hendison wrote about here: http://www.semportland.com/spam/forum-spam-in-eye-of-beholder/ are now engaging in even more egregious conduct.

This is incredulous. If we don’t stand up, who will?

The reason I "wasted my time" compiling that article about Peak Studios was because not only were they leaving fake negative reviews on Google Maps about my business and other SEMpdx board members, but they have also been leaving fake negative reviews for some of their clients (Chem Dry) competitors. That’s clearly demonstrated in the video, and clients and even Google should take notice at their slanderous conduct...

Sounds like he should be teaming up with the SEO champion! :)

I love it. I am going to add some ’anchor text’ links from a couple of my blogs to the post - hopefully it will continue to rank high for Peak Studios, so if potentials customers google them, the company gets it just deserts.

Wow.  The childish mindset that makes these types of practices acceptable is frightening.  I read a similar tale on a message board I frequent.   A woman’s online business was being attacked, and she was receiving threatening and profane emails.  She believes she’s tracked these to an online competitor.

Shocking, infantile practices. He’s clearly not the sharpest tool in the box.I’m surprised he can sleep at night. Not because of his conscience gnawing away at him (maybe we could all club together and buy him some morality for Christmas?) - more because of waiting for his door to be kicked down by someone wielding a crowbar.Hopefully the law will catch up with him before an owner of a business he has smeared takes violent exception to what he’s doing. It usually does in the end.

Maybe he was mistaking SEMpdx for Spamdex.

The Real Story from the beginning. Part one One of our employees was looking some stuff up online and came across a blog and thought of a clever article to write. They liked it so much they thought they would add it to another blog/forum (SEMpdx). They added it there but only after carefully editing it by adding code so the links were embedded rather than referenced; it is a cool feature they have at their blog the reason other blogs don’t have it is it is really only used for embedding links.  They also saw an area on SEMpdx that said looking for gigs, or in laments terms looking for work. They were like wow this is cool they are allowing us to advertise here, they then copied almost word for word one of the pages off our site. Part Two Later that day a guy named Scott Hendison calls our office and is very rude ranting and raving about spam this and spam that. I spoke to the employee and found out what my employee had done and replied to Scott that it wasn’t Spam. Scott then posted a long blog story about this online. He further had Todd Mintz post it to Sphinn.com.  After that we spoke to a few of the other board members at SEMpdx and they all felt it was good for them to bash us and support his actions, rather than walk away.  Not sure how this follows or works towards SEMpdx’s vision statement, “To build national credibility for Portland as a hub for the search engine marketing industry” or code of ethics (www.sempdx.org/about_sempdx/), but it seems to me that the Board members thought it did. You would think someone say, just get rid of the negative blog posts you made, move on! Instead Scott and other board members continued on with their attacks. Scott claimed “agreement was nearly 100%” from his board. I would love a list of the members not in agreement, because they are the smartest ones at SEMpdx. Part Three After nearly a month of negative attacks from Scott and other SEMpdx board members one of our employees posted negative reviews on the Google local listing of Search commander (which automatically posted the review on PDXTC, which is Scott’s duplicate site, both owned by Scott Hendison) and on SEMpdx (which they then changed the name on the post to another company that the Past President owns and was removed when politely requested to be by him) the review was an honest opinion (angry user) betrayed by the board and those others spoke to. After the listing name was changed from SEMpdx to his new company he called and requested we remove the negative remark which we did immediately. Scott on the other hand left this message http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rh2V9qoh6NA. We removed the comment on his listing. A couple hours later he left a negative review on our listing. So we posted his voicemail on YouTube, so his colleagues could hear it. Part four Before we had a chance to contact his colleagues to show them his vulgar voice mail, Scott attacked us more. At which point we posted a link on his Google listing for search commander and a few of his Sphinn posts stating that before you believe , take advice or work with SEMpdx, Search commander or PDXTC (all companies he owns or is on the board for) that you should listen to how Scott Hendison a member of their board talks to people. Scott then further attacked us with his new post on his PDXTC site. We then informed the Portland chamber of commerce of his voice mail, so they could see how a member of their organization deals with other businesses. Part five Scott tries to get his voice mail removed from YouTube by us. We told him to remove the negative things he wrote about us and we would remove the negative things we wrote about him and SEMpdx. Scott then replied with a threat of more negative attacks towards us. Not like him and a few of fellow SEMpdx colleagues haven’t been posting things over the last few months already. We have now sent an email to the president of their SEMpdx asking him to remove everything and we will do the same. My favorite quote from the email to him says, ”This is stupid for everyone involved and simply should never have gotten to this point Scott or Todd should have just removed the two blog posts and moved on with their day. We both know this will hurt everyone involved if it goes any further.” We gave him until noon MST Wednesday to respond. Just before noon Ben Lloyd emailed me  and the board an email recommending the board members stay out of this since it’s really Scott’s issue.  Kent Lewis has also been very accomedating trying to get this all resolved.   This is the 1st thing we have posted since Part four, maybe some of you as his peers could talk some sense into them. He complained about us leaving other companies negative reviews.  those reviews were to say that if was a fake listing and provide the correct information.  The companies were actually using their competitors name.  Comment issue were from a previous company who was spamming for our client(w/o client understanding).  we went through  and deleted all duplicate listing.  After several months the comments moved to the single listing so we had to put in a request with the old guy to remove the comments.

Hehehe. Ok, now that the ruckus has died down, can we all laugh about the "or in laments terms" comment? :P

new update --- Here is the email that I sent to 4 of his clients if you noticed 3 of them called him. I stopped sending them cause I received an email from him saying he would remove the post. He later told me that he never planned to remove the post instead he just needed time to create a page to refer clients to. My email: As a consumer I like to work with companies who always think about my best interest. Scott Hendison has been bashing our company for over a year now and when asked to stop he refused cause of his ego. He thinks it is a game or something. Well we have had just about enough and told him we would not be putting up with it anymore. We had given him 24 hours to remove his post that he claims is about us, unfortunately not all of his information is correct and whenever we tried to respond he would not post it, cause he bashed us on his site and wanted everyone to think he was right (again with his ego). The reason I am telling you this is cause it may have an impact on your company if you continue to work him and he doesn't remove the requested items. I can only assume that he is well aware of the fact that the negative online reputation that he is getting, from being so negative towards others, will effect his clients eventually. The problem is that his ego makes him believe that his negative smear campaign against another company has no effect on his company or the companies he associates himself with, probably cause of his God complex. Well in todays world people do look at the companies that people choose to do work with as a marker of their professionalism. I for one would not want anyone to associate myself with a person like Scott who would rather hurt his clients than take 10 seconds to remove something. I would strongly recommend calling him and letting him know that he was hired to look out for your best interests ( not drag your business name through the mud with his) and to remove the items immediately so everyone can go on with their life. In addition, he received this email too and is well aware that I am sending it to you, I guess he really just doesn't care about his clients. He thinks his post explains this situation, here is the email I got from him last night: "Please check my blog for my public response http://pdxtc.com/wpblog and then leave me alone by email. ------------------ I'm warning you, that if I EVER hear from you again anywhere except in a public forum (like my blog, where you're WELCOME to comment) or if you send ONE more email to my clients, then you have my word that I'll ALSO submit my info to Ripoff Report.com (with my video proof) of your fake competitor review tactics, AND I'll send the link to this new post to each of your clients - (I already have the list since you blocked my IP from your site, but you can't block a proxy) - AND finally I'll send you an invoice for fourteen full hours of wasted time at my searchcommander.com posted public rate of 400 dollars an hour. ------------- Not ONE more email, I'm serious. ------------ Go get busy picking a new business name and state to work in, 'cause you're pretty much done now. ----------- oh, and I'm not sure yet if I'll sue you for emailing all those people with your "warning" about me. It depends on how busy and interested my wife is (she's a lawyer) after we research how deep your pockets are. My guess is that you have nothing of value to sue for anyway ----- Finally, thanks for the great linkbait!" FYI I did comment on his post as he asked me to in his email above, I posted this exact email above that he sent to me on the page link he noted in his above email. Did he post it? not so far as he didn't post any of our previous comments on the initial post he created either. He is lying to you all by saying we never commented he just didn't want anyone to see the comments cause it would have disproved his so called facts. A fact he and his friend put a review bashing us on our google local listing. But wait by his standards us putting a similar review on his in retaliation last year was spam??? He must have a different definition of spam for himself. view his review here. http://maps.google.com/maps?rlz=1C1GGLS_enUS291US304&sourceid=chrome&q=peakstudios&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&hl=en&tab=wl searchcommander.com you can click there to view scotts most recent updates and view the fact that he still has not added the comment I made earlier today though he says he would in the text of the page and in his email
