What a load of rubbish, I watched this guy @Musa literally flood the Whats New page with new submissions, must have been about 30 or so over the course of the day (this was yesterday I think, possibly the day before) and for him to then turn around on his own blog and complain saying that he was testing how easy it was to get to the front page of Sphinn is utterly ridiculous. If your going to test something by means of spamming, it is generally a good idea to tell someone first otherwise youve got no-one to blame but yourself for the fact that your account has been terminated. I dont believe anything was being tested by @Musa at all unless there was a blog post on the internet somewhere explaining his intentions.Half of the rubbish that was submitted was not deservant of being on Sphinn, just because an article is posted on a well known blog, does not automatically become Sphinn worthy (even articles on Search Engine Land), these top SEO bloggers that get paid big money in the profession they are in do not just spend all the time and efforts writing articles in the hope that they will get Sphunn, they are writing them for their own blog!
Ha, I like they way he whines that "the Americans do not like the British". What a load of crap, Americans (and us Brits) dislike spam flooders disrupting a useful online community.
Every time you submit on Sphinn, you see something that asks if youve read the news submission guidelines: http://sphinn.com/guidelines.php These say: "Please dont submit more than two stories in a row, in order to help preserve variety in the Whats New area."He either knowingly violated these or never read them. Sorry that we might not have been on the ball this time to message him quickly about why his account was temporarily disabled (it was disabled, he wasnt banned). But then again, our first efforts with limited time are to preserve the quality of Sphinn for active participants who have read and are acting within the guidelines. As for his concern that its all an anti-British thing. Lets see. Rob who is editor of Sphinn is a Brit. I lived in Britain for 12 years. Enough said.
Hey Danny and Rob, Thanks for the email correspondence and reactivation of the accountNo one contacted me and I thought it was rude, I dont really submit to sphinn but I did a blog post a while back how easy it is to be manipulated http://tinyurl.com/6cnzlb. So I decided to test, to actually help the system and make it grow as its the best us SEOs have.Search is progressing fast, with search engines getting alot more advanced, therefore it is essential we give beginniners the information they need when they visit sites such as Sphinn and this was what I was trying to show. Thanks for the prompt reply.
I thought that it was very rude to flood the system. Im fed up with people doing that.<div></div><div></div><div>There are a load of Brits here. </div>
I did NOT flood the system These stories were not posted at the same time. It just looked liked that because no one else was submitting anything.I did not specifically check the upcoming section all the time.
Unjustified and misinformed. User has been emailed.
I noticed all the stories submitted by this person and was going to report it to the admins but figured theyd notice anyway since it was so rampant. Glad it was caught.
I guess knee jerk reaction blog posts are business as usual just wish more ppl in this industry did their homework before drawing conclusions
