Wow, I need to subscribe to Dan’s RSS feed I think. Because this didn’t get posted on Sphinn yet and it’s AWESOME.

Dan Zarrella writes:
"I started collecting ReTweets a few weeks ago and have collected just over 84,000. I’m working on a system that will allow for mapping and analysis of ReTweet streams (sneak peak below), but in building that, I’ve already uncovered some interesting data.

"Contrary to what I initially thought, “RT” is used more than 4 times more often than the full word “retweet”."

What would be interesting to know is the relationship between the number of followers and the success of retweets, something that shows how likely a person is to get retweets when he asks.  And if saying "please" increases the odds.  :-)

I just want Twitter to settle it and give us a RT option....

Great article - although the use of RT istead of retweeting isn’t a big shock. Those 140 characters are precious!
