(spoken like Dick Vatale) Who's going? It's SMX Social Media baby! Danny Sullivan (The folks who bring us Sphinn...we gotta support them), Neil Patel, Rand Fishkin, Chris Winfield, great wine, SUSHI BABY! I KNOW you read Sphinn...I KNOW you're out there....It's not too late to sign up and hang with the Search Engine Land authority social media folks.

I won't be there but will be in spirit. At a conference in Phoenix doing some marketing inside my niche. Wishing everyone the best of times, and make sure Marty keeps his fingers in good shape so he can live blog lot's of sessions!

I wish I was going also, I'm going to London SMX, although I was hoping to get a Press Pass and do lots of video interviews, but not sure if I can get one.

@danny - bummer that type of list wasn't in place for Local/Mobile. Or did I miss it.

I was thinking about it. I even live in Brooklyn but then I realized all the other things I could do for my business for the cost of an SMX ticket. I haven't even made business cards yet! It would be great for networking and actually putting faces to profiles. Folks scramble to blog about information pertaining to social media all the time so I feel that most of the undiscoverable doesn't exist. I mean...what more could I possibly learn about Digg, del.icio.us, reddit, facebook, etc? $1,100 is a lot to pay for prevalent information. However, I would like to meet Danny, Rand, Vanessa, Michael Wolf, etc, in person though. They seem like good folks. I'm sure there are other potential introductions that I'll be missing. Being with a large group of people of similar interests IS pretty exciting. I'm sure it will be an interesting and educational event!

Squareoak, I always think about that prior to each of these shows. Even during I think "am I getting the value?" The reality for me is that total immersion yields deep results and it's worth the price to systematically network with peers and more advanced pros in person.

Plus, as Lee Odden has said, sometimes speakers (especially new ones) tell too much! I’ve made back the investment EVERY time from EVERY conference exponentially. Sometimes it can be the smallest tip. The SMX Local & Mobile show resulted in our shop getting several CSS Mobile exclusion/inclusion assignments the first week. The Expo reinforced what I thought we knew and I got the reinforcement needed to confidently move forward in offering the services.
