Theres an expression: "all hat, no cattle" to describe someone who talks a good game but has little substance. Is this suggesting that this is a case of all hat, no cattle?Ive never really understood what black hatters do, so I really have no idea.
While Im glad to see a bunch of people I respect are apparently talking to each other now (which is cool), dont be fooled for one second that Black Hats are going away. Scrapper sites, malicious programs, funky redirects, cookie stealing and a bunch of other techniques that negatively impact user experience are still prevalent today because those techniques still make a lot of money for some people who know how to execute them.
Seriously? First Ive never met a blackhat who doesnt do whitehat anyway so all those "these people are whitehat now" statements are moot.<div></div><div>Secondly, if the stuff still works, and it certainly still does, it isnt "melting" anywhere. Even new blackhats are coming into it and making money hand over fist. Long term the whitehat stuff will prevail, but the ol churn and burn still isnt going anywhere and is still about as easy as it was before.</div>
Agree with TheMadHat :)
Thats a pretty clumsy article, Im not a fan.
100% agree with TheMadHat
clumsy, disjointed and not really making any points
