lol yeah powerhouse. I wasnt sure if this was groundbreaking enough for the Sphinn audience- we keep having this argument about whether blog posts that provide good intros for newbies are good enough for Sphinn. I think we need both intros and advanced. This post, regardless, is a cool little case study about the effects of Twitter and Stumbleupon on a low traffic personal blog. The graph and twitter follower stats are cool. Its a nice microsuccess story for bloggers just getting started promoting their blogs.
Petes post is a good study for anyone getting started in understanding the value of social networking to drive traffic and increase exposure. I enjoyed the levity of his post and was thrilled to initially share it with my network. All content doesnt have to be groundbreaking. Pete demonstrated "thinking outside the box" to expand the reach and his audience. Thanks, Pete, for providing us with your stats.
Blog is one fun or hobby, if you are motivated to drive more traffic to your blog, it will became one tough task, do things just like to have passion to write about your story when you are blogging.social networking is one great to drive traffic to your blog for it attract a lot of friends with same hobby when they get your blog.
I like it. The bandnames and the case study. Important to see how this sort of thing can help the small blog sites - as long as the content is exciting/remarkable enough.
Its a quick read, with enough specifics to be useful for someone pondering how to make the leap from hobby blogger to pro (or semi-pro) blogger.
People want to be entertained. A mommy blogger that knits pink socks for her baby girl gets few hits, but a web site about some celeb gets a ton of hits.
Do not confuse social marketing (marketing for charity or social causes) and social MEDIA marketing. Also your font, Lucida Grande, is unreadable on my system. Use web safe fonts.
