If you want real link data from Yahoo Site Explorer, it appears you now need to be logged into Site Explorer and authenticate your site.

They show different results based on that criteria now...

I have seen this in action, and belive it is true.  Understanding that linking changes all the time, I am confused by the fact I get vastly different results from day to day.  I work for a Fortune 25 so we protect our brand aggressively, but sometimes I wonder how accurate this tool really is.

My colleague Tristan over at DigitalGrit spotted this on Thursday. I couldn't quite put my finger on the cause (because I'm always logged in to Yahoo) so I posed the question over at WebmasterWorld.

And sure enough, an esteemed member provided some illumination!

Props to Tristan for spotting it, though.

if fact i don't know anything about that, i thought it will show all the links for a given site as many people like text-links-ad are using yahoo site explorer to find out how many links are there for a given web site.
