Add Sphinn it! FeedFlare to FeedBurner
Easily add a Sphinn it! FeedFlare (a preconfigured link at the bottom of each item) to your FeedBurner feeds in two easy steps - thanks to the FeedFlare Open API.
1. Make a copy of this file from my site - http://www.mobile-seo.co.uk/sphinn.xml - and upload it to your own server. No changes required.
2. Login to your FeedBurner account, navigate to one of your feeds and hit the Optimize tab. Click on FeedFlare (under SERVICES - left hand menu) and scroll down to the 'Add New Flare' option.
Enter the following URL (obviously changing 'yourpath' to the location of your own file) - http://yourpath/sphinn.xml?version=1
*** You must retain the version variable for your new FeedFlare to validate ***
That's it!
Happy Sphinning.

Let's make that link live:
http://www.mobile-seo.co.uk/sphinn.xml
I did my own here last week:
http://searchengineland.com/sphinn.xml
Basically, the same! Great minds, heh....
I do want to come up with a more intelligent flare, one that reflects if an item is already got some Sphinns like flares for Delicious or Digg work. Hopefully next week, we'll have functionality that allows for this.
Hey,
I just did that Yesterday http://hamletbatista.com/sphinn.xml
Danny, not need to wait. I am already working on one to reflect the number of sphinns. I should have it ready by the end of the day. Cheers
I was wondering when this was coming. So many little goodies. :)
Done! Here is the FeedFlare with Sphinn counts http://hamletbatista.com/sphinnit.xml. It is active on my site and feed.
I will write a detailed post after I get something to eat. Feel free to copy it to your site and add it to your FeedBurner flares.
Thanks, Hamlet -- this is wonderful. I've got it implemented on SEL!
Hamlet, I'm struggling here, I know it's my fault as so many have succeeded already but I have no idea what I am doing wrong.
Got your xml - no problem
uploaded to my site searchat.co.uk
went to my FB account and tried to set up a personal flare
I get a response saying that 'no valid feedflare file can be found at the specified location'
I tried it with www and without, I tried it in a sub-directory and in root, I tried same on my other domain altendorff.com, same error.
I put in your url and it works fine! aaargh!
Any idea what I'm doing wrong? Is it something to do with permissions on my host?
Thanks
Jan
@Jan - try using the version parameter
e.g. http://hamletbatista.com/sphinnit.xml?version=1
