My personal wish is to see Google making the entire Webmaster Guidelines available in downloadable PDF file or as an e-book!
The publishers guide kind of gets you there:http://www.google.co.uk/intl/en/press/guides.html
Get rid of the "word salad" MFA pages. These made for adsense pages have zero content and are nothing more than 1000s of keywords dumped on a page in an attempt to get clicks. We need to rid the search engine of garbage.
1. wikipedia. 2. local spam.
Make reporting easy, with a simple feedback form thats available to anybody, so that when spam e-mail arrives from the likes of fedexdispatchcenter@gmail.com or free.porn.super@gmail.com or toptek4@gmail.com and when spam mail uses links like http://docs.google.com/View?docid=dhdcnntg_0hpbk5hfc ... they can be dealt with quickly. And start accepting messages from spam reporting services like SpamCop, instead of forcing the service to return a ISP doesnt want to hear about this type messages.
Would love to see them finally get rid of sites that are owned by one company, but which appear to be different companies in order to dominate the search results page. Seen some that are so blatant they even use the same phone numbers!
Id love them to tackle the people who run AdSense - LITERALLY - and make them look at all the crap MFA sites people are forced to wade through.Wanna make search more usefu? Then stop paying spammers to spam your index!
Matt Cutts has posted a *rough* tally of the first ~150 suggestions for what Google WebSpam Team should do in 2009: http://bit.ly/14w3c
wikipedia... due to "editor" territorial pissing contest its impossible to get anything updated without resorting to trickery.. what happened to gnol?
I gave up on wikipedia years ago... editors reverting truthful information back to stuff full of errors too many times.
