I think the key to establishing trust and building confidence is transparency. Say what you mean and mean what you say. Be honest, be forthcoming and above all else - be yourself! Its easy to forget sometimes that the fingers plucking away on that keyboard are connected to an actual human being. Dont do or say anything online that you wouldnt do or say in a face-to-face situation, whether youre dealing with a friend, colleague or potential client/customer. People appreciate being treated fairly. To take it a step further, customers particularly appreciate good customer service...were all so used to poor service that when we receive great service (or even good service), that experience really stands out in our memories.
Excellent article. As an E-commerce guy, I see trust as a by-product of excellent customer experience. Putting your best foot forward at every customer touch point from beginning to end. You definitely made me look at this from a different angle. Excellent stuff...Thank you very much!
