Thanks for the Sphinn - just made my day (well actually, getting published on Daves blog did really, but you know what I mean!!) :)
Great article- often were so focues on "Gotcha" quick fixes, and check lists that we forget the old school marketing roots from which our efforts really stem/should stem.
Thanks Jeremy (again!) Marketing has had an age to work out what we need to know and do, to get closer to our markets, so I think there is great merits in using traditional marketings techniques as a sort of framework in SEO...Thats my spin on how to approach SEO projects anyway,:)
Interesting post and definatley worth the time to read. Ive always been a fan of an integrated marketing stratedgy, and youre right - SEO is just one part of that equation.
great read, great article. SEO marketing is always very interesting and innovative way against the others, sometimes search engine optimization doesnt work in my opinion, for example Google is so big now when you type in your keyword it brings up 2 billion results, so getting yourself seen by potential clients can be hard and expensive.SEO provides another way of getting out there. once again, a very good read
Thanks again guys! Feedbacks always appreciated...The idea of an SEOs marketing focus is a work in progress in the industry and for me too it seems, but I think it could be quite healthy to think along thsese lines. The core principle still remains - focus your SEO at your markets, using various marketing principles, and I dont think you can go wrong!@Askjamiescott I would take the 2 billion results figure with a pinch of salt, thats simply an estimate of what it could serve, but I think the results typically stop after 200/2000 pages (can someone confirm?). If youre referring to how competitive keywords are then allintitle / allinchor / allintext queries might help build a better impression.:)
