I whole-heartedly support the _principle_ of helping / doing one’s bit for NFPs (in fact, I offer free web design / re-design to local charities, and within that on-site SEO. Current project I’m discussing, is re-designing the website of the dog shelter where we got our a few years ago).As has been said, it has to be done right, look right and be transparent.

@iBrian, the question is not about criticising. The techiques referred to are merely examples of practices that are seemingly frowned upon by Google and Yahoo.The question is, should people bother reporting ’spamdexing’ when they discover it? Will it / could it even make a difference to search results. Is ’grey/black-hat’ such an ever-changing variable that search algo’s could never keep up etc etc?
