The job I currently have is the first one Ive ever put my SEO practices into play. In fact after talking with my boss about it in great extent he ended up making me head of the department.
Whats great about my company as opposed to some others who have already had SEO packages or plans in place is basically they are looking directly to me to keep on top of the current information and trends, which I am more than happy to provide.
I can imagine being a independent SEO contractor could be difficult. After three-four months into an SEO plan some of our clients are starting to get antsy, but the only way we can relieve this is to keep track of the data, and lots of it. If I was fighting for a paycheck from them after the first run, I might be a little more paranoid. Im on salary, so I just keep doing my job the best I can.

I hope its not the "DIGG-killer" because most of the commenters on that site are either half-retarded or socially inept to a painful point, and need to stay there. I hope this will be more of a "gathering of the great SEO minds" instead, where we can all come to discuss new and emerging trends in our little niche market.
Im fairly new to the scene and hope I can offer some good discussion or tips of my own once I get a little more comfortable. Shout out to the greats of SEO like Rand Fishkin whos stellar advice pushed me into suggesting an SEO package for our company, and now Im head of the department. :D
