The old saying of measure twice and cut once applies to launching new sites too.

Have a plan in place that allows you to hit the ground running with an optimised site, your sites signal needs to be loud & clear - you only get one chance at making a first impression.

It's always tough to keep a list of this nature down to 10, but great advice and awesome comments.

Thank you.

I have known about the crawling of javascript for some time now, but the news that it’s passing anchor text and PR is good.

These look like the characteristics of many great leaders, but a solid list nonetheless.

I know exactly what you’re talking about.I don’t blame them. I think it’s the fact that seo and internet marketers often get lumped into the same category often and the IM guys can be spammy at times. There are a lot folks out to game the system and often it’s commercially motivated.

Hmm, Google Squared could prove to be a really big time saver when it comes to researching stuff to write about.

There’s no turn off bigger than a badly written link request. If you’re going to take the time to knock on people’s doors asking for links you have a far greater chance of success if you’re coherent, honest, relevant and engaging.

Awesome post. Sean hits the nail on the head when it comes to Exposing Authors and Inline Aggregation. This definitely can extend the life and reach of a blog post to far beyond what it would normally and thuse helps derive more value and mileage out of a single content item.Definitely food for thought and lessons to heed and remember.

Very good summary and some thought provoking ideas on how to use Twitter more effectively. It’s always good to see practical examples and learn from those.

Ok, so if I rifle through your stuff looking for what I could buy you as a gift, cool? But if I am going through your stuff to see what kind of panties you’re wearing it’s a no-no?I thought so.

funny you mention that, I am in the middle of a link building monster. if you thought link building was tough, try doing it for an online casino... LOL! glad to know I am not the only one getting to grips with local search for foreign markets, what really drives me batty is the amount of extra keywords and complexities that get factored into the mix.it’s a achallenge, but if you can pull off thise one, you’re all set to reap the rewards of playing a global game,
