Wow, Matt, that's around $60 per visit :) Just finished tallying up my Best of the Web traffic over the past year: 2 visits.
I miss the community driven moderation as well, voting, seeing what my friends and others I respect voted for, friending, the "getting hot" stories--basically, the social stuff.
Horrible and painful idea that utterly ruins my day. Call it trite, but I looked forward to doing my good deed for the day and helping a great story get recognition. It seems like you're letting software dictate (no pun intended) the outcome here instead of finding a creative solution to get users participating again. There is no way I can believe that someone is not going to click on a Sphinn button if they are moved by a story and trust that they won't be taken to another page or whatever usability fear is not being overcome. Why not let stories be voted to a top tier where editors can approve?

Hey Manish, I noticed a story that went to 26 sphinns in a day and a half. It disappeared from the top ten most sphunn but never made the front. It was also in the "Water Cooler" category which seems to be down at the moment?More importantly, big ol congrats to you!

Yes, very useful. I sometimes use a reverse IP tool to get the domain stuff but nothing beats asking.
I have been looking for a WP plugin that does this for a long time. Can’t wait to try this.
This seems pretty strict. Guess you have to be accountable not just for the page you submit to but the domain itself.

After a recent outage, I got a phone call from a Comcast exec saying that he read the post and wanted to make sure everthing was okay. Still had the downtime but I thought it was a nice touch.
I think attacking the weaknesses PageRank and offering an alternative is a brilliant tactic on Microsoft’s part, albeit belated.
I counted 12 releases in 2007, not including betas. Still love it though.
