I’m a big fan of using Silverback with my MacBook - it captures all the on-screen action and also uses the webcam to video the user at the same time. Testing still has to be done in person, but you don’t need the whole kit of a lab, and it is really portable.

We’re not the government and we don’t think it’s our place to tell you how you have to run your business or your website :-)Although I suspect you would make a much better job of it than they would ;-)

Patrick, I don’t think anyone thinks you are doing something "wrong" - it just seems a bit odd to be calling someone out for not handing over PageRank, whilst doing the exact same thing yourself. And really, if you can’t vouch for the links you post on the Internet, don’t publish them. Are you basically saying that if you publish links to child pr0n or malware on Blogstorm you don’t care, ’cos you put ’nofollow’ on them and that is enough publishing due dilligence?

And, you have to have a smile at Blogstorm applying ’nofollow’ to the comments on this post saying how wrong it is not to hand out link-love ;-)

I was keen on three - I particularly liked the funnel-conversion based navigation. Would have to be done carefully so as not to give the user the impression you were herding them to hand over their cash though!

Ooh, there are some harsh comments dismissing this approach as currying favour rather than adding any value yourself.

Another way is to use Bloglines or IceRocket to run keyword searches for the things you are interested in. That can often throw up either newcomers to your niche, or just that one random interesting post on your topic by someone who normally writes about something else.
