I didnt think most of the directories would drive any traffic but I though incrementally they would help with SEO. Im starting to think that registering would do more harm then good. Im finding it difficult to find other large organizations with links in directories because most directories allow you to use a keyword phrase. Does anyone know a better technique to find a link to a competitor from a directory? Will Yahoo Site Explorer work?

I was going to agree with bogden but from the number of examples its fairly obvious that there a lot of SEM professionals working inhouse or for requitable agencies that just sort of suck.

I wonder if you can use the service Earth Class Mail to "game" the Google Map process. Because they have boxes all over the US and you identify yourself by an account number added to the street address, you could probably post profiles in all the cities they have addresses for. Using Grand Central, I bet it would be really easy to get a local number for each address (or an 800 number using gotvmail).
