This article is spot-on.  From an in-house search perspective, companies should share information with their in-house search team on an ongoing basis.   Years after an initial site analysis and optimization, a company might make major changes behind the scenes that can impact search.   As technical teams work to get another project out the door, keeping the search informed is sometimes overlooked.   To be safe, assume that the search team needs to know.  Better to share too much information than not enough.
