socivitus
Duh K.Rose is a frickin’ G, man. In fact he’s my dealer too...my social news dealer that is! You thought I was gonna say cocaine didnt ya? ^_^
Im all for new services, but lets face the facts that Plurk is too late to stop the Twitter-train from sweeping everyone off their feet. I give it a month or two, but after that, it will be pretty quiet over there (unless they find a way to reduce noice or come out with a killer app for the platform).
A great and in-depth article, gives a lot of insite into strategies for campaigns and just good old networking.
Great post for people in online business looking to cash in on social media and keep tabs on where their information is being shared and if the comments are negative or positive.
Like Bill said in his response post on his blog, Sphinn is not your normal social network/news site and I dont think explaining the whole aspect to people will change their acticity, etc.
Story: SEO Has No Future
Well, Google isnt going anywhere, so I think SEO does have a furture. ^_^
Story: Is Controversy the New King?
No question controversy is king, just take a look at Paris and Perez Hilton. ^_^
I enjoy SU the most as well, but I think I personally enjoy Mixx more than Sphinn and Digg. While both are awesome, I just love Mixxs feel and I can get all sorts of articles and news from every topic Im into.
@planetc1 Very true, but I also think that you can take any avatar (common or not) and brand it to represent you with good activity and networking within communities.
No surprise that the big tech blogs have loads of authority on digg and delicious, and I love how once you get into the MMO and Marketing blogs like Seth Godin and Dosh Dosh, the authority on digg and delicious vanishes.Overall a really interesting look and a nice comparison. Nice job, Glen.
Far fetched, but extremely funny. Heres what mine might be like:"Making this comment via my @apple @iphone and the awesome @twitterrific application ($14.95) heading towards @hollywoodvideo to pick up the new dvd @cloverfield."The future would be very scary (unlike Cloverfield). ^_^
@toprank The templates themselves arent appealing in the least either. When someone new to the blogosphere is looking for themes via search, I highly doubt they will ever come up. This new company wont last very long.
Story: The ROI Of Social Media
Great advice for new online businesspeople and marketers looking to get a competitive edge.
Really good advice, 99% of the new web start-ups have blogs, but not other companies. Im sure the trend will catch them eventually though. ^_^
Summize is really cool and I plan on using it soon to find people with my interests. Nice find, David.
Good points, widgets and buttons are where people usually screw themselves over.@onreact His design is pretty good for blogspot, but it isnt my cup of tea either.
@bbcarter If you dont take that name as copyrighted quick, someone might steal the idea ^_^I am at a crossroads with digg, sometimes I love it, sometimes I hate it. When I read a post on Huffington Post, I hate it. When I see 20 stories (most VERY similiar) about a new movie, game, or event, I hate it. I love it because of the power users like Maki, Muhammed, and Mr.BabyMan who keep the place fresh. Making it harder for them to get their stories popular just doesnt fly by me, but Im sure other semi-power users who are getting more spotlight arent complaining.
While Ive never experienced this linkbait trickery, I can only imagine a history blog linking to an article about Hitler and the Third Reich only to later have the author redirect the history blogs readers to a Neo-Nazi recruiting site. o_O
Everyone makes mistakes, but at least they got some extra attention for it. ^_^
Story: 5 Tips To Help You Go Viral
#5 is a must and is noticeable on every social site out there. Its usually the people who are networking and sharing for fun with no secondary motives who succeed.
People still pay for directory submissions? o_OIm not sure what the author of the post has against professional SEOs but there are a lot of unknown companies and individuals who charge thousands for SEO and SEM services. Although, SEO is the most important tactic any webmaster can employ and can turn huge traffic instantly and have a quick ROI.
Id have to say hell yes as well. While many times you fail miserably at success, blogging on its own isnt about power, success, or money, its about expression. I cant think of what I could do more thats productive, profitable, fun, and connecting then blogging.
