Press releases are only effective if they get to the right people/outlets though, which is why using an experienced marketing company is the best way to run an online PR campaign. They know the best avenues for distribution to get maximum exposure to the appropriate audience.

I like it.  The bandnames and the case study.  Important to see how this sort of thing can help the small blog sites - as long as the content is exciting/remarkable enough.

Good article.  Nothing really new but it doesn’t hurt to go over the basics every so often.

Interesting how copy written for actual newspapers now has to be search engine friendly because it also goes on their website and they understandably only want to write it once.  Now more and more people get their news (or what passes for news) online then I see SEO in print becoming more and more prominant.

Not really a fan of typos in content, as it definitely looks unprofessional and devalues the website in my opinion.  I wouldn’t trust a company that looks like they can’t spell, even if I suspect that they did it on purpose.  Google offering the correct spelling is also worth considering as thelostagency mentions above.

Found article very useful as I’m quite new to Sphinn myself. Good guide.

Very good read.  Think he’s got most of them down pretty well there.

I think a combination of the two can be most effective although a lot depends on the type of business involved and their aims, both short and long term. I think organisations like ppc because of its measurablilty and flexability, and of course, the quicker results. However, Sandler’s point that SEO is like buying and PPC = renting is a good analogy.  Without good SEO to fall back on, a website can fade away overnight once their PPC campaign ends - which is why I advocate a combination of both.

Interesting article for me (an avid android fan and apple disliker) as this could be a battle worth watching over the next couple of years.  I think android will overtake iphone for functionality fairly quickly. Open source gives so much more scope for development. Only time will tell though.

Very true.  No need to panic (just yet) about this.  The 4 step process you mentioned makes a lot of sense.

Good choice of top 5 SEO myths there.  Lots of misinformation flying around online promising amazing results by using dodgy black hat techniques doesn’t help potential clients get a true respresentation either.
