It is if we speak of the industrial revolution from the lateo 18th century. The factories firing thousands of people, to make way for the better and more productive machines. I don’ believe that SEO will ever be comletely automated. At least not until the moment when I will be able to argue with my PC about history and politics ;).
When you break down a single task to different peope you can get higher efficiency. I see many companies requiring SEO as part of website designers.
Great post! You have a point about the trends and I especially like point 2. Traffic is really the goal and good SERPs are only the tools.
